Treatment
The effects of acupuncture accumulate over time. It's a little like getting a course of medication from your doctor, you don't feel the full benefit after one tablet.
I usually advise weekly treatments for the first 6-8 weeks and then review your progress with you. After initial improvement in symptoms many people choose to have appointments less frequently for maintenance.

Techniques
We don't just use needles! But they are the first tool of our trade. Acupuncture needles are very fine, single use and sterile.
- Pulse diagnosis is done on both wrists to gain another perspective on what is happening in your body.
- Tongue diagnosis is done by observing colours, shapes, movement and coatings.
- Massage is often used to soften the tissues during treatment.
- Electro Acupuncture is a technique which adds a gentle electrical current to the needles enhancing their effect.
- Moxibustion burns the herb Mugwort to warm relevant points on the body.
- Cupping lifts and mobilises tissues to ease tightness.
- Gua Sha or skin scraping deeply massages areas of the body, using a jade or plastic tool.
